Castle Friedrichshof, today the Schlosshotel Kronberg, was built 1889 by Empress Victoria. She lived here until 1901 and made this place a center of hospitality with her charme and her liberal attitude.

The Empress Frederick, founder of this house, was the widow of Frederick III, King of Prussia and German Emperor, and mother of William II, familiar to the world as the Kaiser. She was born at Buckingham Palace on November 21st, 1840 the eldest child of Victoria Queen of England and the Prince Consort.
